    Diploma Casting

    Diplomanti AVU + hosté 1970-2020
Academy of Fine Arts, Prague, Czech Republic

I finished my studies at university with a showcase of “the best” of what I had come to understand during those six years. I eventually transferred the site-specific installation which I intended to produce in the chapel of St. Agnes monastery in Prague to the spaces of the Academy, where the group exhibition of all the graduates ultimately took place. It was a showcase which evaluated the works in contact with the public. However, the academic context, which brings with it myriad stereotypes, made my exhibition less playful and less edgy, despite the fact that during three performances/encounters, I rehabilitated the texts chosen from The History of Sexuality with wine and erotic pastries. The installation’s sculptures stopped being part of the world puzzle, as its individual parts became a pedestal. The title Diploma Casting is thus wholly merited. My sculptures, my actors, experienced exactly what I did. I convinced them to do that, after all.

    Reliquary st. Sebastian Reliquary

Every day, millions of cow remains are conserved, only to later be consumed upon the plates of feast suppers. The mysterious religiosity of such relics consists in their unisex contents. By the way, the conservation process was invented in 1809 by a French confectioner, and the first known relic of its kind was a Can of Lunchmeat.
